Bingkun Li

PhD student

Biography

Bingkun received her MSc in Translational Medicine from Heidelberg University and the University of Groningen. Before starting her master’s, she worked at the University of California, San Francisco for two years, investigating 3D genome architecture and cell type-specific gene regulation in neuronal cells. During her master’s, she worked on characterizing disordered proteins involved in physiological and disease processes. After graduation, she moved to Westlake University to work as a research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Zibo Chen where she helped to set up a microfluidics platform for fabricating IVTT-incorporated synthetic cells. She has now joined the Booth Group as an MSCA SIGSYNCELL doctoral candidate.

When not running around the lab, she is an avid museum, concert, and theatre-goer. She also enjoys going on long hikes and spending time with local bird populations (despite not being able to recognize any).
